‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ Trailer Released!
The trailer for the highly anticipated ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ has just been released, which has got fans excited for the latest installment in the franchise. Officially titled, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Eddie Murphy is returning to the character that made him a global success, nearly 40 years ago.
The new film is set to stream on Netflix, instead of going to theaters. It follows Axel Foley, played by Murphy, teaming up with a new partner in order to save his estranged daughter. In addition to Murphy, Judge Reinhold and John Ashton are reprising their roles from the previous films.
One user on social media would react to the trailer with a Michael Jordan meme. His caption alongside the meme read: "We're getting Bad Boys 4 and Beverly Hills Cop 4 in the same summer"
Another user on social media would also react to seeing Murphy on movie screens once again: "Eddie Murphy looks so young and active. This is why I advise celebrities to stay away from drugs"
One more social media user would write: "Dear God I miss R-rated Eddie Murphy. PG-13 Eddie Murphy is no fun to watch"
Filming took place in late 2022 and early 2023. In a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Murphy would speak on his experience filming the fourth movie, 30 years after the third and 40 years after the original.
Now, a fourth Beverly Hills Cop has been a discussion in Hollywood for some time, with the project first being announced in the mid 1990s, shortly after the third hit theaters. After production had stalled, it was decided to turn the fourth film into a television series, starring Brandon T. Jackson, back in 2013. However, CBS decided to pass on the project, with Jackson predicting the network rejected the series due to its edginess Clips of the original pilot could be found online.
According to Murphy, the reason why the pilot didn't get picked up to series is because the network thought Eddie was going to become a recurring character in the show. "The reason that didn't get picked up was because [the studio] thought that I was going to be in this show because [the lead] was my son. 'And you're going to pop in every now and then' I was like, 'I ain't popping in shit' [They said] 'Well, we ain't making this TV show'"
