DL Hughley Responds To Snoop Dogg After Shaming Black People Over Trump Backlash
After performing for Donald Trump at his pre-inaugural Crypto Ball, Snoop Dogg had to let all of his critics know he doesn't care about what they have to say. Earlier this week, Snoop would share a video of himself responding to the backlash he's received. According to Snoop, he's fighting all of the criticism with love.
"For all the hate I'm going to answer with love, I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I'm cool. I'm together. Still a black man. Still 100% black. All out til you ball out or til you fall out"
"We gotta learn to pick each other up instead of pulling each other down. That's what we're great at as black people, we great at tearing each other down. We could be up one minute and they will try and pull you down the next"
Well, one of Snoop's critics is DL Hughley, who has roasted the rapper for joining in on the celebration of Trump's victory on his own radio show, would double down, condemning the rapper's actions once again. Hughley would take to his radio show once again, in order to disagree with Snoop stating, 'black people are good at tearing each other apart and we never stick together' Hughley would challenge Snoop's opinion by pointing out it's not black people that are tearing down affirmative action, DEI or tearing families apart, it's the guy Snoop performed for. Hughley would go on to ask Snoop why he would attack the community just because they had a problem with something he did. Hughley would add the people are mad at Snoop, they're disappointed.
Now, Snoop wasn't the only rapper to perform at the Crypto Ball; he was also joined by Soulja Boy, Rick Ross and Nelly, all of whom received criticism for deciding to perform. What makes Snoop's participation interesting is his past remarks against Donald Trump, during his first campaign run and term as president. A 2017 video taken just before Trump's first inauguration would resurface. In it, Snoop calls out any black artist that decides to perform for Trump, calling them an Uncle Tom and a coon. It's interesting that just 8 years later, Snoop has changed his mind, this time, now in support of the current president. Musk would even reference the 2017 video and compare it to Snoop's 2025 performance, with the caption: "The vibe change is real"
Hughley would end his video by adding another direct message to Snoop: "It's not us who you have a problem with, it's you. The 2025 version of you is at odds with the 2017 version of you"
