Katt Williams Calls Out Martin Lawrence For Lying About An Alleged Stroke
Katt Williams continues to hold nothing back when it comes to his live stand-up comedy shows. At a recent event, the comedian would touch on Martin Lawrence, asking why he hasn't admitted to having a stroke. If you remember, just last year, throughout the press run for Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Lawrence possibly recovering from a stroke was an ongoing storyline. Fans had noticed Lawrence's slurred and slowed speech, along with a viral clip of Will Smith holding his co-star's hand, guiding and supporting him.
During his stand-up show, Katt would call out Lawrence and his attempts at trying to keep his health concerns under wraps, stating there's nothing wrong with having a stroke and getting better.
The narrative of Lawrence suffering from a stroke gained so much steam, he would actually address the rumors during an interview on Ebro in the Morning. There, Lawrence would deny and say: "I'm fine. I'm in Gods hands. I'm blessed. I'm glad to be waking up everyday and everything. No need for people to be concerned" In the same interview, he would later add: "I'm healthy as hell. Stop the rumors"
Unfortunately, for Lawrence, the rumors wouldn't stop, forcing the comedian to address them once again, this time, at a live show during a stand-up performance of his own. Last August, during a stop in Detroit on his current comedy tour, the comedian would do his best to prove to the audience, the rumors of a stroke are false.
Unfortunately, the clip did little to dispel rumors of a possible stroke, as social media users would continue to express their support and gratitude for Lawrence. Coincidentally, Lawrence would appear as a guest on The Breakfast Club, where his slowed and slurred speech were reasons of concern for viewers. In response to Katt's joke, comments were split on his decision to poke fun at Lawrence. Some would agree, wishing Lawrence would be honest with fans about his current conditions. Others wouldn't share the same opinion, claiming that Martin's personal health is no one's business but his own.
One user on social media would write: "I mean, we can all see something is off, but it's not our business. He's not obligated to share his health information with us"
While another social media would agree and add: "Now I love you Katt, but Martin is my all time fav and he doesn't have to share his health with anyone! He don't bother nobody! Leave him out the bs!"
One more online user would also agree with the previous comments: "Martin Lawrence bothers no one. He doesn't have to expose his health issues with anyone besides his family. I like Katt but this joke was kinda mean and unnecessary"
And one more user would say: "At this point, after 2024, if Katt say it then I'm likely to believe it"
