Martin Lawrence Shuts Down Heckler: “F*ck You”
The 'Martin Lawrence: Y'all Know What It Is' tour has officially kicked off, with Martin already having completing 3 out of 36 shows, in Arizona, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Of course, Lawrence has been showing footage of the new shows on his social media to help promote his return on the road. On Wednesday, Lawrence would post a video on Instagram from one of his latest performances, where he was interrupted by a heckler in the crowd.
In the video, Lawrence was in mid-performance and asked the audience if he could take a sip of water. As someone in the crowd shouted 'Hurry Up', Martin would very candidly respond
Lawrence's caption for the video would say: "Allow me to reintroduce myself" Reintroducing himself to the public is what Lawrence appears to be doing, as his latest film, Bad Boys: Ride or Die is now available for at-home video purchase after earning $400 million at the box office. This latest tour from Martin marks his return to his roots, stand-up comedy. Fans were excited to see the comedian doing what he does best, especially due to several rumors surrounding his health began to circulate during the promotion of Bad Boys. While on the press run, Martin would assure his fans multiple times that he's in good health.
When Lawrence shared the brief clip, his fans and followers were supportive and thrilled to see him back on stage with some of the charisma fans first fell in love with from Martin’s early start. One user on social media would write: "Don't forget who the original host of 'Def Comedy Jam' is. RunTelDat"
Several users would do the same, reminiscing the days when Lawrence was the host of the long-running HBO stand-up comedy show and introduced the world to some of our favorite comedians to this day. Another user would write: "Brought that Def Comedy Jam Martin out of him. Ah-ight now"
One more user would agree and add: "This is that Def Comedy Jam Martin, a lot of folks don't know about this and ain't ready but you better get ready"
While another user would write: "These people that always say 'Hurry Up' doing your water breaks still haven't learn throughout the years"
Aside from stand-up comedy, Martin is set to executive produce a dramatic prequel series to Martin, called Young Martin, which will showcase Martin Payne as a teenager. The dramatization has been compared to Peacock's Bel-Air series, which took note from the Will Smith series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It's unclear when and where the Martin prequel will make its debut.
